My earliest memory is being 5 years old and holding a Canon Snappy 50. I have a number of questionable photo's of a grumpy looking cat with glowing, crazy eyes from the flash. I still have the camera, but it's pretty much just a paper weight now.

I developed my obsession with photography in high school, I loved taking pictures on the school’s Pentax 35mm SLR camera and spent hours developing the B&W film and images in the darkroom.

My career kick-started while living in London. I worked in a photographic store/studio and Terry O'Neill used to come in regularly. I would not so subtly fan girl whenever he did. He's shot all the greats in his time: The Beatles, Rolling Stones, Bowie, Bridget Bardot, even the Queen! It's because of him that Paul McCartney came into the studios for a shoot and I managed to get a glimpse of the great man – for that I will forever be indebted to him.

I'm a big fan of Helmut Newton's fashion shoots from the 60s, 70s and 80s. His images were always provocative and daring and I loved his use of dramatic lighting. He radicalized fashion photography by taking it out of the studio and into the streets, introducing a photojournalist approach to Fashion and Advertising. Incorporating complex themes of sexuality and desire, the women he portrays in his images are independent and powerful.

I’ll always love Linda McCartney's photographs of The Beatles from the 60s. She had an access to them that few others did, and because of her relationship with Paul, she was able to capture some wonderfully relaxed and intimate portraits that few others could have. I also love her vegetarian sausages!
